Bio
Education
I graduated from Mississippi State University, where I obtained a degree in Biology Secondary Education. I also have a Bachelors of Science in Nursing from UT Memphis and Masters in Educational Leadership from Arkansas State.
Experience
While in nursing school I was a Nurse Extern on the Orthro/Neuro floor. I began my nursing career at LeBonheur Children's Hosptial in the ICU where I practiced for 8 years prior to teaching. I had the opportunity to take care of a variety of patients and saw many miracles. I was a charge nurse, preceptor, and participated in the leadership program. LeBonheur will always have a piece of my heart. My teaching career began at Bartlett High School. I have been teaching Biology and a variety of other Sciences at DCHS for the last 14 years.
Classes I have taught include: Biology, Botany, Chem Com, Environmental Science, Human A& P, Physical Science, Zoology, AND AP Biology!
I joined the CTC West Team in 2018. I taught Health Science 1 for 3 years. I am Super excited to teach Health Science 2 at CTC West! I feel blessed to be able to help my students find their passion in health care and prepare them to compassionately serve others (btw~ I waited over 20 years position for this position).
Bio
My husband of 30 years and I were born and raised in DeSoto County, graduated from Southaven High School and Mississippi State! I LOVE the Dawgs...Hail State! We raised our two incredible sons in Southaven and both were graduates of DeSoto Central High School taught by phenomenal teachers. Ryne is a floating pharmacist for the Kroger in our area he received his PharmD degree from Union University in Jackson, Tn and Drew will graduate 2020 from the "other "school in Mississippi and works for RC Construction as a project manager in Washington, DC presently. . We are so proud of both of them. Lastly, we have to precious fur babies Yogi a Pomeranian, Ozzie a Miniature Schnauzer, and Wrigley a Miniature Australian Shephard.
Please do not hesitate to contact me if necessary.
